Compression stockings and travel-related DVT risk in airline passengers
The review pooled 12 randomized trials in 2,918 air travelers. In the nine trials that put stockings on both legs, 2,637 participants had follow-up data: symptomless DVT was found in 3 who wore graduated compression and 47 who did not (odds ratio 0.10, 95% CI 0.04-0.25; high-certainty evidence).

Compression stockings vs Kinesio taping in early chronic venous disease
Over four weeks in 62 patients with early chronic venous disease, compression stockings reduced pain and leg circumference more than Kinesio taping.
Consensus · 2018 · Phlebology
International consensus on when to use medical compression stockings
An international expert panel recommends compression to relieve venous symptoms and prevent travel- and work-related leg swelling (Grade 1B), and suggests it during long-distance travel for travelers at raised DVT risk (Grade 2B).

Reduced My Shin Splint Pain and Work Day Pain
I bought these because I was dealing with two different kinds of discomfort. I have aching legs after long days at my desk and shin splint pain when I run. After checking with my clinician, I decided to try 20 to 30 mmHg compression. My ankle measures 9 inches and my calf is 14 inches, which puts me in a large, but I accidentally ordered a medium. I contacted Ovena Health through ovenahealth.com instead of arranging an Amazon return. They responded within the same hour and sent me a large at no charge. I was genuinely surprised by how easy they made everything. The large fits well. It is snug and takes more effort to put on than an ordinary sock, but that is expected with this level of compression. Before wearing them, my lower legs would start aching after several hours of sitting. With these on, my legs feel supported and the pain is much less noticeable by the end of my eight hour workday. I also tried them while running because shin splints can make my lower legs hurt during and after training. The socks stayed up without bunching, the nylon, spandex, and elastane blend these socks are made of are breathable, and the compression absolutely decreased my shin splint pain. The versatility of this product is everything I needed and made them completely worth the money for me.

Compression socks that stay up and feel good
Pregnancy had my ankles noticeably puffy by lunchtime. After checking with my provider, I decided to try 20 to 30 mmHg. I measured instead of guessing from my shoe size. My ankle is 9 inches and my calf is 14.75 inches, so I ordered a Large, and the fit was right for me. They definitely take more effort to put on than regular socks, but I expected that with this level of compression. I was worried they might feel too tight, but once they were on, the pressure felt firm and even. Honestly, it felt good having that support around my ankles and calves. I wore them for a full 8 hour day and never had to pull them back up. They stayed smooth without bunching around my ankle. The top left a faint line on my leg, but it never dug in or became uncomfortable. I also like that the plain black style looks like a regular knee high sock once it is on. I have washed them six times in cold water and air dried them each time. They still feel just as firm as they did on the first wear and have kept their shape. I am glad I measured both my ankle and calf because the Large feels snug and supportive without feeling too small.
